Tonic Jukebox History
WEEK 41 - Pick Your Own 2 and 12DofJB
This week everyone will be their own curator using formulae and our Tonic Jukebox back catalogue.
Your starting point is to choose a number between 1 and 40.
This becomes your key number.
Now you need a key day of the week.
For this you need the day of your birth.
If you don't know the day you can find out at https://www.dayofbirth.co.uk/

Monday December 21
Go to the History page of Jukebox.
Your key number gives you the week.
Your key day gives you the day of the week.
And so you have your piece of music for today.
Enjoy!
Tuesday December 22
Key number
Add 3 to yesterday's key number to generate a new week number.
If this takes you beyond 40, subtract 10 from the result.
E.g. If your key number on Monday was 38, adding 3 will give you 41.
So subtract 10 and your new key number is 31.
Key day
Move forwards 3 days from yesterday's key day.
If this takes you beyond Sunday, start again at Monday.
E.g. If your key day was Saturday, moving forwards 3 days will give you Tuesday.
Voilà, a new selection.
Wednesday December 23
First you will need a new key number.
Use one or two numbers from your house or flat number (in any order) to come up with a new key number between 1 and 40.
For a new key day choose any significant happy day in your life and, if necessary, use https://www.dayofbirth.co.uk/ to identify the day of the week. Then you will have your new key day.
Then it's back to he same process as you did on Monday.
Simples!
Thursday December 24
Today you are going to use a random number generator to arrive at your key number and key day. The website you can use is here. You will need to put in three numbers each time - the lower limit, the higher limit and how many numbers to generate, which will always be 1.
To get your key number set lower and upper limits to 1 and 40.
To get your key day set them to 1 and 7 (1=Monday, 2=Tuesday, etc.)
Then click on 'calculate'.
And there you will have a completely random selection for today.
Then it's back to the same process you did last Monday.
Ta Da!
I did a trial run and got one of my favourite pieces - The Intermezzo from Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana.
And watch out for Santa who should be arriving late Christmas Eve.

The Twelve Days of Jukebox (12DofJB)
No long explanations, just an eclectic mix of music and video for the festive season inspired by a well known song. A new track (or two) every day for the next 12 days. Special thanks to Bryan and my brother, Alan, for helping me to put this programme together. You all know Bryan and me, but most of you will not know Alan, so here is a photo of my brother and me. |
